Ancient have punched their ticket to DreamHack Open Summer 2019 after defeating Vexed UK 2-0 in the grand final of the Swedish qualifier. The Sweden Open Qualifier featured 16 teams in a best-of-one, single-elimination bracket that culminated with a best-of-three grand final between Ancient and Vexed UK. William "draken" Sundin and company kicked off the series with a 10-5 CT-side display on Inferno, which they closed out with a 16-13 scoreline to go 1-0 ahead. ![]() Ancient picked up seven rounds on the offense on Overpass and followed it up with a splendid defensive performance to win the map 16-9, taking the 2-0 series victory and qualifying for the LAN event. With this result, Ancient have become the first team to secure their place at DreamHack Open Summer, which will take place on June 15-17 at the Elmia Convention Center in Jönköping, Sweden.
