The group stage of the European Championship 2014 has come to an end, with 16 teams now entering the playoffs. After almost two months filled with great matches between some of Europe's strongest nations, the 2014 edition of ESEC has now reached the play-off stage, which will use a single-elimination format. The top four teams from each of the four groups will now lock horns for a chance to fight for the top prize of $6,000 at the season finals, in Belgrade, Serbia, from December 14-15.
Defending champions Denmark have been pitted against Kazakhstan in the Round of 16, whereas last year's runner-up, France, will have to face Germany. This round will also feature an exciting Scandinavian showdown between Sweden and Norway and a mouth-watering clash between the two CIS giants, Russia and Ukraine. ESEC 2014 Round of 16:
