The Electronic Sports League has announced that x6tence e-sports club have been removed from the IEM European Championship. The Spanish team announced on Wednesday that they had changed a total of four players for the ESL competition after suffering a disappointing 2-0 defeat to FACE2FACE in their first match of the tournament. However, the ESL has not allowed x6tence to register the new players due to the team not having enough free slots to add new members anymore, which left them with just one player for the tournament. As a result, x6tence have dropped out of the competition due to insufficient players to play their matches. Meanwhile, the ESL has announced that x6tence's replacement will be found through a replacement cup, which will be held on Sunday, from 15.00 CET onwards, and will feature 16 or 32 teams. The replacement cup is open to all teams, with every player needing a Premium account. In order to apply for this tournament, teams have to send an email to masters.application@esl.eu with the subject "Replacement Cup" and the following info:
The application process wil be closed on Saturday at 17.00 CET, with the bracket being released on Sunday at 12.00 CET, three hours before the start of the competition. The winner will receive direct entry into the IEM European Championship. |
